DAW Easy Setup Guide
With the VS-1, setup is effortless — just plug in, set your DAW, map your controls, and start playing. No drivers to install, no downloads to chase, no headaches — just pure, uninterrupted time for you to create your next masterpiece.

General MIDI Setup (All DAWs)

Connect the VS-1 via USB — no drivers needed, it’s class-compliant MIDI.

Power up your DAW.

In your DAW’s MIDI Preferences / Settings, make sure:

Track/Input (or similar) is enabled for the VS-1 so it can send MIDI to your DAW.

Remote/Control Surface is enabled so you can map controls.Output to the VS-1 can be left on or off — it’s optional unless you’re sending MIDI back.
Ableton Live Setup

Go to Preferences → Link/MIDI.

Locate "VS-1" in the MIDI Ports section.

Enable:Track = ON

Remote = ON
(Leave Sync OFF unless you’re clocking MIDI from Live.) -
For fast mapping:

Press CMD+M / CTRL+M to enter MIDI Map Mode.

Click the control in Ableton, twist a knob or press a button on VS-1.

Exit MIDI Map Mode to lock the assignment.
Logic Pro Setup

Open Logic Pro → Settings → MIDI → Inputs.

Make sure the VS-1 is checked in the MIDI Input list.

Open the Controller Assignments window to map controls.

For transport mapping, assign Play/Stop/Record in Key Commands to the three VS-1 buttons.
Cubase / Nuendo Setup

Go to Studio → Studio Setup → MIDI Port Setup.

Enable the VS-1’s input and output.
-
In MIDI Remote Manager, add the VS-1 as a device.

Map knobs, encoder, and buttons via Cubase’s Learn function.
FL Studio Setup

Go to Options → MIDI Settings.

Under Input, select the VS-1 and enable it.

Turn on Enable and set Controller Type to “Generic Controller”.

Use Link to Controller (right-click on a parameter) and twist a knob/button on the VS-1.
Reaper Setup

Go to Options → Preferences → MIDI Devices.

Double-click the VS-1 in the Input list.

Enable input from this device
-
Enable input for control messages

Use Reaper’s MIDI Learn to map any parameter.
Pro Tools Setup

Go to Setup → MIDI → MIDI Input Devices.

Check the VS-1 in the list.

Use Setup → Peripherals → MIDI Controllers to assign the VS-1 if you want HUI-style control, or map MIDI CCs manually in instruments.
Tip: In any DAW, remember to save your MIDI mapping template so you don’t have to re-assign controls every session.
